Mayor Doyle
Proudly Announces the
Honored With
Utility of the Year Award
The
City of Pawtucket and the Pawtucket Water Supply Board (PWSB) are proud to
announce that the PWSB has been selected by the New England Water Works
Association (NEWWA) to receive the Utility of the Year Award. This is a prestigious honor given by NEWWA
annually to a utility in New England that has made significant improvements to
all aspects of the water system. The
award is a great honor for the City of Pawtucket and the PWSB and is a direct
result of the hard work and dedication of the PWSB employees.
PWSB
received notice from Raymond Raposa, Executive Director NEWWA, and the award
will be presented at the annual NEWWA Conference in September. In the notification letter, Mr. Raposa
states, “The award recognizes Pawtucket Water Supply Board for their
significant improvements to the water system infrastructure, customer service,
staff training, and operations to further protect public health of the
customers it serves”. PWSB was selected by
NEWWA from utilities of similar size throughout New England.
NEWWA
is a section of the American Water Works Association and is a leading authority
on water system operations whose mission is “to
promote public health, safety, and welfare through the advancement and
dissemination of knowledge for improvement of the planning, design, construction,
operation, management, and regulation of water works relating to the production
and distribution of safe, potable drinking water”.
