The PWSB will begin the Spring hydrant flushing program on Sunday, April 6, 2008, weather permitting.  This is the semi-annual procedure to remove the bulk of the accumulated sediments in the unlined water mains.  The flushing program run from Sunday through Thursday each week starting at 9:00 PM and ending at 4:00 AM.   Our customers may experience discolored water and lower than normal pressures during the flushing operation.  Customers may also experience discolored water for a short period after flushing stops in the morning.  We recommend that you allow your cold water to run for a short time to clear the lines.  We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  Weekly updates will follow on this website.  We also will be running our normal advertisement on Thursdays in the Pawtucket Times and the Providence Journal-Bulletin.  If you experience any problem, please contact us at 729-5005.
